Writing has always been intimidating for me. I write in a journal, but no one sees that. Writing for an audience is uncomfortable and one thing I do not always enjoy doing. However, over the last few weeks of consistent writing, I have improved my mindset and ability to express feelings comprehensively.
Shifting my mindset has been a pivotal journey this semester. Breaking through the barriers I had constructed around my writing wasn't a simple task. Yet, driven by a genuine desire for improvement, I recognized that embracing feedback was crucial for my growth. This required stepping out of my comfort zone and allowing others to engage with my work—an unnerving prospect, to say the least. Reflecting on that internal struggle now fills me with a sense of pride and accomplishment. My confidence is being built up.
Another aspect I've observed is my growing capacity to delve deeper into the thoughts I aim to convey. I've consciously broadened my vocabulary and strive to weave engaging narratives that resonate with my audience. Not only have I diversified my vocabulary, but I've also honed my ability to spot grammatical errors with greater accuracy. It's become a daily habit for me; as I scroll through Instagram, I can't help but notice little slip-ups in posts, prompting me to mentally tweak the wording for optimal clarity and effectiveness.
