The Art of Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a way of life that I have been trying to perfect throughout the last few years. Being mindful helps me feel more connected to God and opens my mind to greater possibilities. During these mindfulness sessions, I have come to understand who I am as a child of God, come up with business ideas, and helped calm my everyday anxieties.


One of my favorite mindfulness activities is to go for a walk without any distractions. I put my phone away and listen to the sounds around me. Walking helps my brain work through ideas and challenges. I feel at greater peace being out in nature — it grounds me.


There are many other ways to be mindful, such as listening to a meditation podcast or the 5-4-3-2-1 method. This method works directly with your senses. Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.


Take your time during any mindful activity. Observe the details and enjoy being more present.
