Video Creation Lessons

Years ago, I created and edited YouTube videos for a small baking channel I did. With the few videos I had, I never wrote a script. I had the idea in my head but it was never written down on paper. Creating my latest video was a completely different experience and much more enjoyable because I took the time to create a script and ensure I had enough footage for the time frame I was working with.
Throughout this process, I learned things that I would do differently if I could do my video again. The first that comes to mind is having more video footage than photographs. I ran out of videos for my B-roll so I had to use photographs in my camera roll. The transitions were also something I would want to work on and change for future videos.
Having correct microphones and areas for recording is very important. Because I rented my mic from the school, I only had it for certain days. The interviewees could not meet on the same days so I had the mic for only one interview. Being consistent with the audio is extremely important and will save time during the editing process.
